Thonik is a design studio based in Amsterdam. Their minimal and impactful approach to the design is the main key of their exhibition imagined at the fictional Gallerie Anatome Milano. The main graphic outcome created is the exhibition poster where the typography – the most important graphic tool for the studio – is at the centre of the attention and it’s used to represent the two souls of the team – Nikki and Thomas – the two business owners. All the other graphic outcomes want to convey the same sense of cleaness. The design for them is essential, without too much decoration; it goes straight to the message. Another important element designed for their exhibition is the booklet where their most important “slogans” are represented through the main visuals of their campaign, so the tomato – logo designed for the Socialist Party – becomes the selected symbol of their “Maximum substance, minimum form” idea of design.
